Missions

St. Paul’s Mission Ministry provides a year-round program of mission education so our congregation can be better informed, more knowledgeable, and thus more motivated to be involved with the variety of mission and outreach opportunities here at our church.

Compassion

At the present time we are asking people to consider the sponsorship of a Compassion Child. It’s one of the ways that we can develop a direct relationship with a child who is struggling to exist in our world. Children are always available for sponsorship. Each year at Creation there are several hundred children sponsored. If you are interested, please contact the church office for name of chair person.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is presently building in Trumbaursville. There are several three, four, and five strips of homes. We are looking to have at least one Saturday lunch provided by St. Paul’s. There is also an opportunity to give monetary help on a continuous basis through Hope Builders. When you give to this effort, you are asked to commit to giving on a monthly basis. Please contact the church office for the name of the person to contact if you have an interest in working with Habitat for St. Paul’s.

Red Bird Mission

Red Bird Mission in Beverly, KY, is a United Methodist mission in which we participate with St. John’s UMC in Ivyland. Serving many people living below the poverty level, Red Bird operates a Christian school from kindergarten through 12th grades as well as a medical clinic. We take appliances, cabinets from kitchens and baths, sinks, etc. to the Ivyland church and put them in one of the trailers that are driven routinely to Kentucky. All St. Paul’s members are encouraged to support this mission by contributing items such as used furniture, new toys, household goods and linens, school items, cookware, items for infants, and cotton material for quilting. The trailers, in the rear of the church property on Almshouse Road, are always open.

Bucks County Housing Group

Bucks County Housing Group has been helped by St. Paul’s for many years. They provide a Food Pantry to which we contribute regularly. Food is collected in the wooden box in the Narthex.

Appalachian Service Project

For many summers we have sent a work group to the Appalachian Service Project. We have gone either to Virginia, West Virginia, or other southern states. The youth of the Church are accompanied by adults, and they spend a week helping rebuild or repair homes in the area.

The Crop Walk

The Crop Walk has included a group from St. Paul’s for many, many years. The purpose is to contribute sponsorship monies to fight cancer.

Heifer International

Heifer International offers an opportunity for a week at their farm in Massachusetts. For those who have participated, it turned out to be a great experience. The participants learned about the “helping hands” that are given throughout the world. The group saw how the people live in the third world countries and experienced the food these people consume on a daily basis.

Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors.
